KALIGANDAKI
The word Kali (black lady) is associated with one of the fiercest forms of Shakti (the combined form of Lord Shiva and his consort, Parvati). One of the holiest rivers for both Hindus and Buddhists originates from Damodar Kund (Lake) situated in a basin in the Damodar Himal and flows southward through a rain shadow valley on the eastern edge of the Annapurna Range. As she flows down she carries with her
fossilized remains of ancient sea creatures. These fossils beds prove beyond a doubt that the whole land now covered by the mighty Himalayas was, once upon a time, the bed of a shallow sea between the Asian and Indian landmasses. This river offers rafting trips of three days duration. Upstream from our put-in site, the Kali Ghandaki passes through the deepest gorge in the world between the 8000m+ summits of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna I.
TRISHULI
The name Trishuli literally means "trident." The Trident is the sacred weapon carried by Lord Shiva. This river was one of the first rivers opened to white-water adventure in Nepal. It offers trips suitable for both the beginners and experienced. For beginners, a one-day trip offers an enjoyable treat. For white-water adventure lovers, two and three days trips are available.
