Global Adventure Trekking organizes wonderful trips to Tibet and Bhutan. These two regions have remained as attractive and mysterious places to many people all over the world. Tibet is extremely difficult to visit on your own whereas entry to Bhutan is totally forbidden to outsiders except license-holder companies and their clients. GAT is an authorized agency to organize these trips and is committed to provide you with life time memories in these celestial places.
Tibet is situated at the average height of 4500m (14,000 ft). This naturally rich plateau possesses more than fifty peaks above 7000 m. and eleven Himalayan mountains over 8000m. (Ten of these peaks are located on the southern border and shared with Nepal.) Bordering on China, Sikkim & Darjeeling (India), Burma, Nepal & Bhutan, it is the home of about two million people. Nature and people along with their specific culture exist in harmony which is fascinating to the visitors. The chains of snow-covered mountains, monasteries, lakes & rivers make up Tibet making it a tempting travel destination to thousands of people annually. Buddhism is deeply rooted in every aspect of Tibetan society. Tibetan culture, history, religion and arts form an unique entity which only few people get to experience in their life. Tibetan people have their own unique tradition of birth, marriage, burial providing visitors a number of opportunities to observe. GAT invites you to join us in this fabulous land of mountains ,monks, mysteries and adventure.

Lhasa, located about two hours from the airstrip, has many wonderful things to see and do. These places and cultural entities tell the story of Tibet's unique past and the intertwining of religion with history. We suggest you do not miss the great temples: circumambulate the Barkor around the Jokhang with the local pilgrims, explore Sera and Drepung Monasteries. Tour the Potala Palace and Norbulinka (the Dalai Lamas' summer palace) they are the highlights of this trip. Most of the holy temples hold magic and mysticism. They emulate the complete faith of adherents of Tibetan Buddhism.

Tibetan people are friendly, generous and funny. Don't be surprised when they offer you some tsampa, the national dish made of barley flour and yak butter or Tibetan Butter Tea. This is part of the hospitable welcome - even to complete strangers.
