* This is not an exhaustive list. HMG of Nepal encourages foreign investment in medium & heavy industry falling under several sectors of economic activity. The only exceptions made are in defence related industries, alcohol, cigarettes and bidi. Potential investors could propose projects outside this list which would be of interest to Nepal either as import substitution industries, export-oriented industries, or assembly industries.
