The Mount Everest or Solu Khumbu region is the second must popular trekking area in Nepal. TREK # 01:HUNGU WILDERNESS TREKS WITH MERA PEAK 6461m.

This is an expedition, which involves climbing of Mera Peak 6460m. That is attempted from Hungu valley in the Everest area with Amphulapcha Pass. It is not difficult climb and is suitable for those with no prior climbing experience, providing they are fit and adventurous.You follow the old Everest expedition trail in from the road head at Jiri, a day drive from Kathmandu. You, then trek northeast into the remote Hungu valley before crossing the Amphulapcha Pass 5300m. Easy walk down through Tyangbuche and Namche bazaar to Lukla, and the flight to Kathmandu.

From Kathmandu, you drive to Barabise & trek Northeast in to the massive Rolwaling valley, one of the Nepal best unexplored and off beaten path, closed for many years to trekkers. This valle is pre-dominanted by Sherpas and lies beneath the mighty peak of Gauri Shankar (7145m.) close to the Tibetan border. Climbing to Trekking up on same amazing glacier terrain to the base of the great Tashilapcha Pass. The ascent of this Pass is necessarily slow & careful but the rewards come when you reach the top with views west across the Rolwaling valley & east to the soaring offers excellent views of Everest, 8848m.
