Himalayan Experience is the only trekking agency in Nepal, owned and operated by a senior earth scientist, Tank Ojha. Ojha is an experienced Europe and America trained geologist/naturalist, who grew up and spent years as a field geoscientist in the remote Himalayas. Tank Ojha and his staff have organized and lead tours and expeditions throughout the Himalaya for over ten years.
Himalayan Experience Services
We are proud to provide tour services for private, commercial, individual and research groups. Our services include sight seeing, jeep tour, photo adventure, cultural, jungle, geology, nature tour, elephant ride, trekking, river rafting, and mountain flight throughout Nepal, Tibet, India, and Bhutan. We use only high quality, clean and dependable camping gear and transportation. We provide three delicious (continental/native) meals a day that meet U.S. and European hygienic standards.
Complimentary Services
• Access to email and the Internet can be provided from almost any part of Nepal.
• For our guests, Himalayan Experience has a comfortable welcome-lounge with a collection of reading materials on geology, culture, history, fauna and flora of the Himalaya. Our office also has fax, photocopier, and computers for use by our guests.
• The staff at Himalayan Experience are highly trained interpretative naturalists, who specialize in providing informative and interesting tours that focus on Himalayan geology, botany, wildlife, anthropology, culture, customs and traditions.

Sample Tours and Outdoor Adventures
Himalayan Experience specializes in one to four-week tours and outdoor adventures. We work very closely with our clients to customize their tour. Shorter sightseeing tours can also be arranged with prior notification. Our trip packages include: round-trip airfare, transportation during the tour, most outdoor adventure equipment, all meals and accommodations. Trip duration includes international air travel time. Trips typically originate and end in Kathmandu. Time is allotted for exploring the Kathmandu area.
Examples of popular tours and treks:
•
Jeep tour to Nagarkot, Daman, Pokhara and trek up to Ghandruk near the base of Annapurna. Duration: 10-14 days, early October to mid April.
• Explore Jomsom in the High Himalaya, trek up to Kagbeni from Jomsom, jeep tour to Pokhara and Lumbini (Buddha’s birth place), ride an elephant in Chitwan Jungle Park. Duration: 10-14 days, early October to mid April
• Explore Everest base camp, tour Eastern Nepal by jeep and ride an elephant in Chitwan National Jungle Park. Duration: four weeks, early October to mid March.
• Explore north of Annapurna, trek up to Manang and Gangapurna Glacier, tour Pokhara by jeep plus ride an elephant to chase Bengal tiger and rhinos in Chitwan National Jungle Park. Duration: two weeks, early October to early March.
• Explore Mustang and experience the ancient Tibetan culture and many other mysteries of the High Himalaya. This special trek starts from Jomsom and continues up to Lomangtang (Nepal/Tibet border). Mustang is restricted. Special permits and fees are required. Duration: 16-18 days, August to early November.
• Explore south of Annapurna, trek up to Annapurna base camp, tour far western Nepal by jeep, explore Khaptad National Park, explore Bardiya Jungle Wildlife Camp by elephant and jeep. Duration: Three to four weeks, early October to early April.
• Fly to Lukla near Everest base camp, two-days hike to Everest base camp area, jeep tour in eastern Nepal, mountain flight. Duration two weeks, early October to mid March.
• Explore Helambu-Gosaikund and Lang Tang Glacier. Duration 12-14 days, early October to mid April.
Treks, tours and jungle adventures in Nepal, India and Bhutan are typically scheduled September through April. Himalayan high country treks and tours, including Tibet, are available during summer months (mid May to early September).
