Full day excursion to Taktsang also known as the Tiger's
Nest |

- JELE DZONG:
Distance : 6-7 Km . Altitude : 2590 m.
A short first day of the trek is rather gradual till the
camp. The camp site displays the view of Paro valley with
the snow capped mountains behind the valley.

DZONG – JANGCHULAKHA:
Distance : 10 Km . Altitude : 2896 m.
The trek begins with about an hour and half climb and then
ascends gradually up through thick alpine forest. Yak
herders may be seen around the camp site.

JANGCHULAKHA
– JIMILANGTSO:
Distance : 11 Km . Altitude : 3350 m.
The trail follows the ridge. On a clear day
the view of the mountains and the valley are
beautiful. Camp site is close to the lake of
Jimilangtso. These lakes are known for their giant
sized trout and if lucky you may enjoy freshly
prepared lake trout for dinner.

JIMILANGTSO
– SIMKOTA:
Distance : 11 Km . Altitude : 3500 m.
The trail takes you through dwarf rhododendron trees and
past the lake of
Janetso. Chances of coming across yak herder's camp.
Stop for the day close to Simikota lake. Opportunity for
more trout fishing or stroll around the camp. |

SIMKOTA
– PHAJODING:
Distance : 10 Km . Altitude : 2896 m.
Today you begin with a gradual climb all the way to
Doupchula pass from where you can have beautiful views of
mount Gangkhar Punsum( one of the highest mountains in
Bhutan) and other surrounding mountains.Then the trail
descends gradually till the camp site at Phajoding
cafeteria.

PHAJODING
– THIMPHU:
Distance : 8 Km . Altitude : 2454 m.
The trek to Thimphu is mostly downhill through blue pine
forest. A leisurely trek of about 3 hours to reach the hotel
for hot shower and lunch. In the afternoon some sightseeing
and shopping around town.

THIMPHU:
A full day of sightseeing and shopping in Thimphu.

Excursion
to Punakha and Wangdi valley. Visit Punakha Dzong and
Wangdiphodrong Dzong. Lunch at Wangdi Guest House and drive
back to Thimphu.

- PARO AND OUT: After an early breakfast, transfer to
Paro airport to connect with the onward flight. |
