Kathmandu, the capital and living heritage of Nepal welcomes you. Whether you have come for leisure or for work, do take time to enjoy the city's beauty and the warm hospitality of its people.
As you walk through its alleys, photograph the temples and the stupas, admire the fine pieces, of art, study the rich culture and talk to the people on the streets, there are a few things you will definitely notice - Kathmandu is beautiful; Kathmandu is fun; and Kathmandu is memorable.
Like any major city in the world, Kathmandu has its challenges. Rapidly growing urban population and a changing society continues to put pressure on the city's natural resources, physical infrastructure and our own management Capabilities. I, however, prefer not to see these as problems but rather as opportunities. Kathmandu presents unique opportunities for mobilizing our resources and working together as a team towards making this city clean, green and, healthy. I am committed to exploring each opportunity and utilizing it to the extent possible for .the benefit of this city and its citizens. I am committed to preserving Kathmandu's rich cultural and natural heritage.
My vision for Kathmandu is a city which is beautiful, well managed and full of life; a city where citizens are proud of their natural and cultural heritage and look forward to a bright future.
1 am proud to be a son of Kathmandu. Kathmandu is my home, my
heritage, my pride. Welcome to my home.
Thank you !
