ENTRY FORMALITIES:

All foreigners intending to visit Sikkim can avail of 15 days permit. Permits for FITS and groups for restricted areas i.e. Phodong, Gantok, Rumtek and Pemayangtse can be obtained 24 hours in advance from all Indian Missions abroad with requisite documents. 10 Days extention can be made at Gantok.

ACCESSIBILITY:

By air: Bagdora is the nearest Airport 124 km from Gantok. Indian Airlines & Jet Airways operats flight from New Delhi, Calcutta and Guhati. From Nepal either can be flown to Bhadrapur or Biratnagar and then drive 146 km to Gantok.

By land: From Biratnagar 146 Km and Phuntsholing (Bhutan) 210km to Gantok.

Climate: (general) Days are normally warm. Nights can at times be very cool, and winter even below freezing. Monsoon showers occur in summer (Heaviest in July and August), and sometimes even in spring and autumn. The most visited months are March, April, May, September October and November. During these months you may expect mostly warm sunny days and cool/cold nights. Whereas rain or snow is not usual at these times, it is a possibility.

What to Bring: Personal clothing: Strong, normal clothing ( According to the season), preferably cotton for summer and woolen clothing for evening and winter. For Trekking strong comfortable trekking boots, warm socks, sunglasses, headgear, raincoat, and warm clothing, including a down Jacket for higher altitude treks and for the evenings. A sleeping bag is a most; medium too heavy is advised. ( Note: for trekking, a load of 25 kg is allowed)

THE KANCHANJUNGA BLUE SHEEP TRAIL

Gantok is the capital of Sikkim with an excellent view of Kanchanjunga range, overflowing with ancient temples, monasteries, narrow colorful bazaar. The pleasure of trekking through the interiors of Sikkim and Darjeeling , the rare privilege of experiencing the Majestic Himalaya in its noblest and truest from as seen from the different region each with their own peculiar characteristics.

Day 01 Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and transfer to border. After permit formalities drive to Gantok  (123Km). O/N at Gantok.
Day 02 A full day sightseeing at Rumtek Monastery, Do-Drul Chorten and Deer Park.
Day 03 Drive to Yuksam via Tashiding Monastery. O/N at Yuksam.
Day 04 Start treks O/N camping at Tshoka 2048m.
Day 05 Tshoka - Dzongri. O/N camping at Dzongri.
Day 06 Dzongri - A day excurssion and acclimatization rest.
Day 07 Dzongri - Thansing. O/N camping at Thansing.
Day 08 Thansing - Samiti lake
Day 09 Samiti Lake - Goche-La (4940m) - back to Samiti lake.
Day 10 Samiti Lake - Thansing
Day 11 Thansing - Tshoka
Day 12 Tshoka -Yuksom. O/N at Yuksom.
Day 13 Drive to Darjeeling via Pemayangtse Monastery.
Day 14 Morning sunrise view from Tiger hill and drive to Biratnagar. O/N at Biratnagar.
Day 15 After breakfast fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. O/N at Kathmandu.

PANORAMIC TOUR-EASTERN HIMALAYAS

Day 01 Fly from Kathmandu to Biratnagar and transfer to border. After permit formalities drive to Darjeeling. Evening stroll in town. O/N at Darjeeling.
Day 02 Early morning to see sunrise at Tiger hill. Darjeeling sightseeing. Visit Himalayan Mountaineering  Institute, Zoo, Observatory Hill and Ghoom Buddhist Monastery.
Day 03 Visit Tea Gardens, Ava Art Gallery, Natural History Museum and the Botanical Gardens. O/N at Darjeeling.
Day 04 Drive to Pemayangtse Monastery through valleys, rivers, tea gardens. Evening walk around quite villages area. O/N at Pemayangtse.
Day 05 Full day excursion to Kecheoperi Lake and to Yuksam and back. Yuksam is the entry point where all the trekking starts for the assault on the eastern Himalayas.
Day 06 Drive to Gantok. Picnic. Short walk around the town. O/N at Capital city Gantok..
Day 07 Early morning sunrise from Hanuman Top. Full day sightseeing including Rumtek Monastery. Evening drive to Tashi View Point for sunset view of the majestic Mt. Kanchanjunga and Mt. Siniolchu.. A  special Sikkim food festival. O/N at Gantok.
Day 08 Drive to Kalimpong, an active point of Tibetan trade. One can laze around the tranquillity, or go   souvenirs hunting at the village market. O/N at Kalimpong.
Day 09 Visit the Universal Nurseries where cactus, Orchids, Succulents and amaryllis are grown: the new   Buddhist Monastery And-dog Playoff Brang: the old town and the market. O/N at Kalimpong.
Day 10 After breakfast drive to Biratnagar. O/N at Biratnagar.
Day 11 After breakfast fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel. O/N at Kathmandu.

SIKKIM - BHUTAN - EXPERIENCE # 01

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 A full day sightseeing in Kathmandu & Bhaktapur. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 03 Fly to Biratnagar and drive to border. After permit formalities drive to Gantok.
Day 04 Drive to Tsangu Lake 38 km from Gantok on the way to Tibet border.
Day 05 Rumtek to Martam Village resort.
Day 06 Drive to Phontsholing. At the Bhutan border Our representative will be waiting to receive you. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 07 Drive to Paro. O/N ( Over night ) at Druk Hotel.
Day 08 Morning drive to the old ruins of Drukyel Dzong and a visit to the Ta-Dzong, National Museu. After lunch a 2 hour drive to Thimphu. On the way visit the Simtokha Dzong built in 1627 by Shabdrung  Nawang Namgyel. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 09 Sightseeing tour of the memorial chorten, Indigenous Hospital, Dupthop Nunnery. Lunch at Plums   Cafe. After lunch visit the Handicraft Emporium and then Tashichodzong. A fare well party will be   hosted
Day 10 Early morning drive to Paro for departure. Be-Yul’s representative will bid you fare well at Paro airport. Arrive Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel.
Day 11 Drive to airport to fly to onward destination.

SIKKIM - BHUTAN - EXPERIENCE # 02

Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02 A full day sightseeing in Kathmandu & Bhaktapur. O/N at Kathmandu.
Day 03 Fly to Biratnagar and drive to border. After permit formalities drive to Gantok.
Day 04 Drive to Tsangu Lake 38 km from Gantok on the way to Tibet border.
Day 05 Rumtek to Martam Village resort.
Day 06 Drive to Phontsholing. At the Bhutan border Our representative will be waiting to receive you. O/N at Druk Hotel
Day 07 Morning drive to Drukgyel Dzong 18kms, away from the hotel. On the way back visit a typical    Bhutanese Farm House also a short visit to the temple built in the 7th century. After lunch visit the  Ta-Dzong that houses the National Museum of Bhutan followed by a short walk to Paro Rimpung   Dzong. Evening at leisure. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 08 In the morning drive to Satsam Chorten. From there two hour trek to Taksang cafeteria. Hot lunch will be served at the Cafeteria followed by a short walk back to Satsam Chorten and 2 hour drive to Thimphu. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 09 Sightseeing at Memorial Chorten, National Library, Nuns Monastery, Changlimithang Monastery,  Indegenous Hospital. Lunch at Druk Hotel. After lunch at leisure. At 5 P.M. you will visit the  Tashichdzong (Thimphu Dzong). O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 10 A 3 hour drive to Punkha across the Dochula Pass. Light refreshment will be served at Dochula Cafe. Lunch at Hotel Zantopelri. After lunch visit the Punkha Dzong. O/N at Hotel Zantopelri.
Day 11 In the morning drive 3 hour to Gantay Gompa. Pack lunch will be served. After lunch drive back to  Thimphu. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 12 In the morning you will witness the Folk and Mask Dance performed by the Royal Dance Academy.  Lunch at Druk Hotel. After lunch at leisure. O/N at Druk Hotel.
Day 13 Early morning dive to Paro to fly to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
Day 14 Drive to airport to fly to Kathmandu.
