Rough and wild, this trek cuts
through less travelled country south of Annapurna II & Lamjung Himal massif. It boasts
good mountain views and the local people are unaccustomed to trekkers. It is a spectacular
short trek and traverses a variety of terrain from low land villages and rice terraces up

Here Tibetan monks inhabit sacred monasteries and combined with the views of Tibetan
plateau against stark white Himalayas makes this is a truly spiritual place. Continuing,
more monasteries await in Larkya Bazaar, along with the biggest challenge - crossing
Larkya La (pass.) This 5213m snow-covered pass demands the utmost respect. Snow-covered
peaks over 6500m tower above as we cross. The descent, once off the snow takes us through
alpine then tropical areas, bursting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees, waterfalls and
aqua-blue green lakes laced with cotton-white beaches. Finally, Manaslu will disappear as
we descend to Beshishar (832m.) This 3 week excursion will leave you with a sense of peace

The Department of Immigration issues only a small number of special permits, to protect the local Tibetan traditions from outside influence as well as to protect the environment. SIMIKOT - KAILASH - SIMIKOTTIBET: Tibet one of those extraordinary destination where indeed adventure lurks around every corner! Adventure on the road is never short on the beautiful Transhimalayan drive, through mountain, passes, promising a panorama of a cultural and scenic diversity unsurpassable anywhere. MANASAROVAR & HOLY MT. KAILASH: Kailash: Mt.Kailash claimed to be the apex of the Hindu religious axis is also one of the highest mountain in Tibet at 22,022 feet, and Lake Mansarovar at 14,950 feet is said to be the highest fresh water lake in the world. Certainly a difficult region to reach due to the variable and extreme weather conditions. The distance from Lhasa for example is approximately 2000 km. Only during the last few years have lots of ordinary and not so ordinary travellers, been able to experience this region. Road conditions are difficult much of the time and we have to make many preparations to ensure that we have a reasonable chance of reaching Kailash. We need to bring our own food and camping equipment. Basic lodges and tea-houses can be found but the plateau is so remote that it is possible to travel for several days without finding food available. To travel for days on this remote plateau with the chance encounters of nomads herding their sheep or yaks is to be transformed into another way of life, to see and become part of such a devout pilgrimage as shown by pilgrims around Mt.Kailash and Lake Mansarovar is to put some aspects of our western way of life into proper perspective. HUMLA VALLEY: In May 1993 The governemnts of Nepal and China reached on an accord that allowed the first treks across the border between the two countres. While it had been a route for Nepali pilgrims for years, foreign trekkers were never allowed to trek from Nepal into Tibet. It has always been possible, however, to bend or ignore the rules. Though the raison d’etre for this trek it theoriticaly pilgrimage to Mt. Kailash in Tibet, the trek through Humla, Nepal’s highest, northmost and most remote district, is worth the trek by itself. The lower Humla, Limi valley and upper Humla Karnali valley ar populated by “Bhitias” who trade extensively with Tibet in tradtiional ways that have totally vanished elsewhere. It is only near Simikot, the district headquarters, that you will encounter people of the other groups, mostly Thakuri and Chhetris.

highest peaks, Nepal is loaded with spectacular mountains vistas. The Everest trek is
justifiably famous, not only for its proximity to the world’s highest mountain but
also for its friendly Sherpa people, picturesque villages, great variety of cultures and
traditions, colourful festivals and monasteries. The Sagarmatha National Park is
rich with flora and fauna, but the existence of the yeti remains a mystery.

found dotting the windswept ground.
