Jungle Safari Lodge is situated at the edge of Rapti River. It is located 45 minutes away from the town called Tandi and only 5 min. away from the park and its headquarters. At the present time the lodge consists of comfortable cottages that are spread over a large area with well-maintained lawns, walk ways and a garden full of flowers and plants. This lodge also has separate dining rooms where delectable Nepalese and continental cuisine is served. The dining hall is a convenient place for our visitors to meet and share their joy and happiness. All the rooms at jungle Safari Lodge are well carpeted with attached bathrooms. The Jungle Safari Lodge is building a modern 4 storeyed house at the same location. The construction will be completed in December 1999.The new buildings will be well equipped with air conditioning, telephone, television, and wall to wall carpets. This will be the first modern hotel in Sauraha.

Elephant Ride: This is the most exciting way to seethe jungle. We will take you on elephant back to view wild animals in their natural habitat. This ride provides the best vantage point for observing the wild life of the area.

Jeep Drive: We will take you across the river in to the jungle in four wheels drive vehicles. This way we can go deeper into the jungle and have more frequent sightings of the parks unique animals.

Bird Watching and Jungle Watch: Our expert naturalist will take you to the jungle. This walk on foot provides you with the great satisfactions of viewing animals closely. Our specialist will also show the different varieties of birds in the trip.

Canoe Ride: This is a river journey in an authentic Nepali dug out canoe. This ride is the best way to view the aquatic animals. On this 45 minutes ride you can see crocodiles and other fishes.

Village Walk: For the villages walk you will be accompanied by an expert naturalist who knows the area well. This way you will gain insight the indigenous Tharu people and their daily life.

Cultural Program: A cultural program performed by the Tharus will be as other highlight of your stay with us.
