01 Kathmandu

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.

02 Kathmandu - Dhulikhel or Nagarkot

Morning sight - seeing tour of Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur, medieval city of devotees and drive to Dhulikhel or Nagarkot ( an hour's drive from Kathmandu) vantage point for viewing the Himalayan Vista. Overnight at Dhulikhel or Nagarkot.

03 Dhulikhel or Nagarkot - Kathmandu

After an early morning sunrise view and breakfast we leave for hotel in Kathmandu. Afternoon sight - seeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Syambhunath, Buddhist stupa. Dinner in a typical Nepalese Restaurant.

04 Kathmandu

Early morning drive to the Airport for 1 hour long enchanting flight over the northern Himalayan including Mt. Everest. After breakfast, Morning sight - seeing tour of Patan city, home of fine arts and Tibetan Handicraft Center. Rest of the day at leisure.

05 Kathmandu Departure

Leisure until transfer to the airport for onward flight.

01 Kathmandu

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Hotel.

02 Kathmandu

Morning sight-seeing tour of Bhaktapur - medieval city of devotees, and Pashupatinath - the holiest Hindu temple. Rest in the afternoon.

03 Kathmandu

Early morning drive to the Airport for 1 hour long enchanting flight over the northern Himalayan including Mt. Everest. Morning sight-seeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square and Syambhunath, Buddhist stupa. Rest in the afternoon.

04 Kathmandu - Chitwan National Park.

After breakfast drive for about 5 hours along very scenic roads beside the river Trishuli to Chitwan National Park, arrival at Wildlife camp. Jungle activities in the afternoon.

05 Chitwan

Wildlife activities provided by the camp which include jungle safari, nature walk, bird watching, elephant ride, dugout canoe ride in the Rapti River providing opportunities to see Crocodiles, Rhinoceroses, many species of Birds, other wild animals and with a little luck, the Royal Bengal Tiger.

06 Chitwan - Pokhara

Leave for Pokhara (4:30 hrs.) and check into hotel. Boating in Phewa Lake for an hour in the afternoon.

07 Pokhara - Kathmandu

Early morning view of sunrise over the Annapurna range and the magnificent Machhapuchare which appears to crown the Pokhara Valley. Transfer to airport for late afternoon flight to Kathmandu. Arrive in Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.

08 Kathmandu - Departure

Morning free for personal activities. Transfer to airport for flight back home.

DAY ITINERARY DETAILS

01 Kathmandu

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. Meet & transfer to Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.

02 Kathmandu

Sight - seeing tour of Pashupatinath - the holiest Hindu temple in Nepal, Baudhanath - the world's biggest stupa and Bhaktapur - the medieval city of devotees. Afternoon sight -seeing tour of Patan city visiting the Golden temple and Tibetan Refugee Camp.

03-10 Kathmandu - Langtang Valley Trek.

Langtang Himal is situated north of Kathmandu. The Langtang Valley is overshadowed by the huge peak of Langtang Lirung (23,711 ft.). This glacial valley is inhabited by people of Tibetan origin and other ethnic groups in the lower section. The trek starts from Dhunche. Then the trail passes through the varied landscape of evergreen forests and the rushing Bhote Koshi river that flows through Langtang National Park. This trek covers Kyangin Gompa (a Buddhist monastery) and excursion to Langshisha glacier at 14000 ft. - the highest point of this trek. We reach Kathmandu on day 10.

11 Kathmandu - Fishling (Trishuli Rafting).

Leave for rafting starting point in the Trishuli river at Charaudi; gently float down the river encountering several rapids 'Offset', 'Tin Devi'; camping on the river at Fishling.

12 Fishling - Rafting - Mungling - Chitwan National Park

After our morning breakfast we will start on our rafting trip encountering many small rapids in between stretches of calm, unhurried parts of the river. Our big rapid today is 'Pinball' at the confluence of Mungling - where we have our lunch. After lunch we say good by to our rafting crew and drive to Chitwan for Jungle Safari.

13 Chitwan

Wildlife activities provided by the camp which include jungle safari, nature walk, bird watching, elephant ride, dugout canoe ride in the Rapti River providing opportunities to see Crocodiles, Rhinoceroses, many species of Birds, other wild animals and with a little luck, the Royal Bengal Tiger.

14 Chitwan - Pokhara.

Leave for Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

15 Pokhara - Kathmandu.

Half day sightseeing of Pokhara Valley. Drive back to Kathmandu in the afternoon. Overnight at Hotel.

16 Kathmandu.

Free day in Kathmandu. Overnight at Hotel.

In addition to places of interest in Paro, Thimphu and Punkha, another fascinating destination is the sacred valley of Bumtang. The picturesque drive to Bumtang takes you through regions profuse in flora and fauna, several magnificent mountain passes and places of great historic sights and ancient palaces of the ruling importance. The Tongsa Dzong is a prime example, it is by far the largest Dzong in the country and was in olden times the seats of the dominant power in feudal Bhutan. Considered the most sacred valley, Bumtang as a rich area of religious-Historical sites and ancient palaces of ruling family of the valley. The cultural trip to Bumtang also includes a 3 day walking tour to the sanctified spot where Guru Padhmasambhawa meditated. He was the great saint who converted the Bhutanese from pagan worshipers to peace loving Buddhist.

Day 01 Kathmandu - Thimpu.

Day 03 Thimpu - Punakha (77 Kms. / 3 hrs. approx.)
After breakfast we drive over the spectacular Dochula pass (3,100 mts.) to the fertile valley of Punakha. There we visit the historic Punakha Dzong, once the old capital of Bhutan. This magnificent Dzong is sprawled between the Phochu and Mochu rivers. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04 Punakha-Bhumanthang ( 210 Kms./8 hrs. approx.)
Early morning drive to the valley of Bhumanthang through the Yotola Pass (3440 mts.) This is a very sacred place for the Bhutanese with many temples and holy places. Overnight at Bhumanthang.

Day 05 Bhumanthang : Full day sightseeing.
Morning drive to Mebartsho - the Burning Lake. This gorge is holy site and pilgrimage where Guru Rimpoche hid religious treasures later discovered by Terton Pema Lingpa. We also visit the Swiss Farm where you can buy excellent local made cheese. After lunch we visit Jakar Dzong - Castle of the White Bird. Built in 1549 this Dzong houses the administrative center of Bhumanthang. Visit Kuirjey Lhakang, the most sacred monastery of Bhumanthang. Overnight at Bhumanthnag.

Day 06 Bhumanthang -Thimpu ( 267 Kms./8 hrs. approx.).

Early morning drive to Thimpu via Tongsa and Wangdiphodrang. Overnight at hotel.

Day 07 Thimpu - Paro (65 Kms./2 hrs.)
Morning drive to Paro. We drive through the Paro Valley for a sightseeing tour of the Drukgyel Dzong, National Museum and the Kyichu Lhakhang. The view of the Chomolhari Mountain is spectacular most of the way. After Lunch we drive to Sartsham Chorten and take a horse ride up hill for 2 hours to Taktsang Cafeteria. After refreshments and a short trek we reach the vantage point for a eye level view of the Taktsang Lhakhang , "The Tigers Nest". We retrace our steps for our return to Paro. Over night at hotel in Paro.

Day 08 Paro - Kathmandu.
Drive to the airport for your flight to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel.
