Mustang Trek ( 20 days )
Mustang is one of the recently opened areas
for limited trekking groups each year. It was the former Buddhist kingdom of Lo, extended
to the upper Kali Gandaki River which has carved the deepest gorge in the world between
Dhaulagiri and Annapurnas. Mustang has a long and rich history that makes one of the most
interesting places in Nepal. There are records of events in Lo as early as 8th century.
The trek follows the west side of Jomsom Valley with magnificent views of the Dhaulagiri,
Nilgiri and the Annapurna massif from the pass at 4,000 meters and reache the fabled
madieval walled city of Lo Manthang full of cultural and religious heirtage. Not suffered
from mass influx of tourists, the region has retained its unique and un-spoilt nature by
less human impact in the area. The countryside of Lo Manthang is similar to Tibetan
plateau with its endless expanses of yellow and gray rolling hills.
Dolpo
Region
Dolpo lies in the north-west of the great
Dhaulagiri massif nestling in the rain shadow of vistas of soaring summits. Dolpo offers
unique and scenic grandeur of the far western remote region of Nepal. As a new and exotic
trekking destination, it provides solitary and adventure filled experience for the
trekkers where nature has remained virtually untouched. Plateaus, valleys, forests and
moreover, Dolpo in its Tibet-like setting is its attraction. The trek offer a perfect
opportunity to absorb the scenic beauty and rich cultural heritage of this region. The
great Phoksundo Lake and towering above its western shores the 6612m Kanjiroba Peak is one
of the most dramatically beautiful sights in the Himalaya.
Jumla - Dolpo Trek via Kagmara Pass and
Phoksundo Lake ( 16 days ) Upper Dolpo ( Shey Gompa) Trek ( 17 days )
Jumla - Rara Trek ( 13 days )
Jumla- Rara trek is one of the popular treks
in western Nepal. Glimpses of cultures and scenery offered in this trek are quite
different from those in the rest of Nepal. Rara, a high altitude lake with brilliantly
clear water, ringed with pine spruce and juniper forests and snow capped Himalayan peaks
is magnificent.
