General Information

Trekking Season In Nepal

The usual trekking season starts from September to May. During the remainder of the year, Monsoon makes travelling wet and offers little in the way of mountain views. But some treks that cross high passes are better attempted in months other than December and January because

of the heavy snow fall in some parts of the country. The temperature rises considerably under altitudes of 3000 ft. in April and May in some parts of the country, therefore it is wise to plan accordingly.

Trek Permit In Nepal

"His Majesty The Government Of Nepal" requires a trekking permit for travel into all hill regions of the country except Kathmandu valley, Pokhara Valley and Chitwan National Park. Several areas in Northern Nepal are restricted and entry to foreign nationals is strictly restricted. The use of the trek permit, however, makes it unnecessary for trekkers to carry their passports on the trek.
