This
brief trek reveals the most fascinating peak in the world as well as
other famous peaks in the Khumbu region in the shortest possible
time and without involving very high altitudes. A trek fit for
amateur but hardy walkers.
The
trek starts with a breathtaking scenic flight from Kathmandu to
Lukla (2827 m) and ascends the Dudh Koshi valley to the Sherpa
settlement of Namche Bazar.
A
day's trek to the famous Buddhist monastery of Tengboche (3867 m) is
rewarded with the most magnificent views of Everest rising behind
Lhotse and Nuptse peaks and the stunning peak of Amadablam
dominating the landscape.
The
return to Lukla via Khumjung provides a glimpse of traditional
Sherpa life. The trek ends with an early morning flight back to
Kathmandu.
