RAFTING
IN NEPAL
Nepal lies at a steep incline on the southern slopes of the
Himalayas. And the rivers that thunder down from the mountains
foaming with glacial melt churn with extra ferocity to offer one of
the best white waters in the world.
Rafting
in Nepal is usually a “wilderness” experience. Some rafting
points have to be trekked due to the absence of roads. The
combination of magnificent mountain scenery, exotic culture, warm
blue waters, white beaches, wildlife and the friendly welcoming
people make Nepal a river runner’s
paradise. There is a wide range of rafting rivers suitable
for both professionals and amateurs looking for an exciting
holiday.
Rivers
are graded on a scale of one to six, with Class 1 being a scenic
float and anything above Class 4+ a professional’s delight. Grades
of the rapids will vary according to the volume of water flowing in
the river at the time of the trip.
