Trek
starts and ends in Katmandu Valley
This
beautiful trek starts from Dhunche (1900 m) after an interesting but
long rough drive from Kathmandu.
A
picturesque trek rich in cultural heritage and delightful animal and
plant life. It is perhaps the best introduction to the Nepal
Himalayas. Follow the Trishuli river north and then up into the wide
alpine valley of Langtang from where the great peaks become visible
- Ganesh (7407 m), Langtang Lirung (7246 m), Dorje Lakpa (6975 m)
and many others. Your final destination at Kyanjin Gompa is near the
end of the valley at 3950 m offering spectacular day excursions to
vantagepoints with superb views of Lantang Lirung. It is also
possible to explore the glaciers and the yak pastures of Langsisa.
Treks
to the holy lakes of Gosaikunda and the Sherpa village of Helambu
can also be organized on the return journey, which ends in the
Kathmandu Valley.
