Mustang
lies in the remote northern part of the Kali Gandaki
River Valley, which extends into Tibet . The route to Lo
Manthang passes between stark mountainsides through fields of
barley, pastures of grazing yaks and goats and villages dominated by
old Buddhist monasteries under an incredibly blue sky. This is a
high altitude (above 3600 m), arid and fragile land with its own
unique people, customs and traditions untouched by the outside
world. This trek is allowed with special permits only.
The
trek displays panoramic views of Nilgiri, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri and
several other peaks which make your trek most memorable.
