BHAKTAPUR, BOUDDHA AND PASHUPATINATH
Bhaktapur, formerly
Bhadgaon, is the second largest of the three major cities in the Kathmandu Valley and is
famed as a traditional craft center. We visit the Durbar Square, Golden Temple (one of the
most beautiful doors of the world), the Palace of Fifty Five Windows, then continue to
Nyatapola (five storeyed pagoda temple) in Bhaktapur. This tour then continues onto Lord
Pashupatinath Temple, Nepal's holiest Hindu shrine, and Boudhanath, one of the world's
largest stupas (Buddhist shrine) also known as little Tibet.

PATAN AND SWAYAMBHU NATH STUPA
Patan (Lalitpur) is the oldest of the three major cities in Kathmandu Valley
and is famous for its Buddhist monuments, Hindu temples, and traditional artisans working
with wood, stone and metal. We
visit the Durbar Square with intricate woodwork on its temples and palaces. Krishna Mandir
(a classic example of Nepalese stone work depicting stones from the Mahabharata), the
ancient Royal Bath, and the Nepalese Handicraft Center. This tour then continues through
the lush outskirts of Kathmandu to the famous Swayambhunath stupa. This 2500 years old
stupa on a hillock offers a breathtaking view of Kathmandu city.

DAKSHINKALI, CHOVAR GORGE AND SHESH
NARAYAN TEMPLE
Dakshinkali, is a Goddess Kali temple (Goddess of Valour and Victory of Good
over Evil) located 28 km. southwest of Kathmandu and is famed for its natural
surroundings. Every Tuesdays and Saturday there is a festival of animal sacrifice. Our
friends who have taken this tour praise the beauty of the trip. On the return journey we
visit Shesh Narayan Temple and Chovar Gorge.

DHULIKHEL (4,823 ft/1,470m)
Dhulikhel, at a distance of 30 kms, is a 50 minute drive east of Kathmandu,
this small quiet town, known for its traditional crafts, offers a spectacular view of the
Himalayan range, from Cho Oyu in the East to Himalchuli in the West. The reflection of the
sunset off the snowy peaks creates a brilliant panorama of colors.
Afternoon: Sun-Tue-Thu-Saturdays (4 hrs.)

NAGARKOT (7,133
ft/2,174m)
Nagarkot is a 75 minute picturesque drive from Kathmandu to a lovely scenic
spot, with a spectacular view of the Himalayas - Langtang (23,750 ft.), Dorje Lakpa
(22,870 ft.), Gauri Shankar (23,422 ft.), Xixabangma etc. On a clear day one can even see
Mt. Everest.

Booking Reservation can be made at our office or with bell captain or
Receptionist in your hotel or lodge. We suggest that you book in advance in order to avoid
disappointment. All museums are closed on Tuesdays and Public holidays.
TIME:
Morning and afternoon tours depart from our Durbar Marg office at 9 AM and
2:30 PM respectively. Please make sure that you arrive at least 15 minutes before the
departure time.
DEPARTURE POINT:
All tours leave as per schedule from our Durbar Marg Office.
CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS:
Himalayan Travel & Tours reserves the rights to cancel or change any tours
schedules.
PRICES:
Cancellation should be made 24 hrs. prior to the departure of the tour. No refunds
will be made for no show and missed tour.
PAYMENT:
Foreigners, other than Indian Nationals are required by Law to pay in convertible
currency. Nepalese rupees can be accepted with proof of encashment certificate with an
authorised dealer.
